Last year, Jeep gave the Compass updated interior and exterior styling, more in-car tech and additional standard features. For 2023, Jeep is back at it again. This time, the Compass gains a new turbocharged engine that's more powerful and fuel-efficient than the one it replaces. Other enhancements include a new eight-speed automatic transmission, standard four-wheel-drive for all models, and the addition of a drowsy driver monitor and a rear seat reminder system. We like the Jeep Compass for its roomy interior, strong standard engine, standard all-wheel drive and Jeep-infused style. Sport things out with17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, Heated mirrors, Roof rails, a 60/40-split rear bench seat and a 10.1-inch touchscreen,7-inch information cluster display, a Six-speaker sound system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration with wireless connectivity, available Satellite radio First- and second-row USB ports and an Adjustable load floor. The Compass Sport comes equipped with several advanced driver assist features. These include Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, Lane departure mitigation, Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, Driver attention warning, and a Rear seat reminder. We suggest stepping up from the base Sport trim to the Latitude trim. For a little more money, the Latitude includes some niceties that make the Compass easier to live with day to day. Along with access to a few more option packages, the Compass Latitude adds Fog lights and automatic high beams, Synthetic leather-wrapped steering wheel and Keyless ignition and entry
